Fit Profile

Roller hockey pants generally come in two different fits, traditional and tapered.

Traditional roller hockey pants are classic, looser fitting pants from top to bottom. They provide plenty of room for a much more relaxed fit.

Tapered pants offer a more fitted style, meaning the material hugs the body and equipment much more. It really comes down to which pant is going to be more comfortable for you during gameplay.

Roller Hockey Pant Construction

Materials: Roller hockey pants are built with a mixture of nylon, mesh, and spandex. Different price points will feature different combinations of these materials with higher-end pants utilizing more durable, flexible, and breathable construction. Upgrades can include 4-way stretch nylon, more ventilated mesh panels, and more stretch gussets.

Waistband: Most pants come with a belt that is cinched tight to keep the pants secure around the waist. While these offer a wider fit range, elastic waistbands offer a more flexible fit and usually include a drawstring for closure. Once again, this comes down to what is most comfortable for you.

Knee: All roller hockey pants will come with some sort of knee panel reinforcement. While this doesn't offer the player protection, it's designed to add durability to the pant itself. The higher the Denier, the stronger the panel and the better it will hold up when sliding on the ground. An extra feature found on some higher-end pants is shin straps, a nylon strap that secures shin guards tight against the leg to help prevent the protection from moving around.
