Customer Reviews
Giving these a 5I have slight damage to one of my legs. Had to take time off from the ice to heal from another injury. Decided to give True a try. They fit well, I was working on conditioning and leg strengthening before hitting the ice.
For some reason on the ice even when pushing off hard I can’t get the acceleration I am used to. I went back to my previous skates (Jet Speeds) and things clicked in. It’s obvious True has a great product, but the taper and feel for the ice do not work for me. I still recommend them as it’s obvious they are well constructed with a great price point.
Best skates Ive ever wornHands down the most comfortable & affordable hockey skates I've ever had. I was a loyal Bauer hockey skates guy since youth hockey. But the True TF-7's are by far the best skate I've ever laced up !!!! 10 out of 10 !!!!!
Unreal valueHands down the best skate on the market at this price point, and it's not even close. The stiffness of the boot is comparable to Bauer and CCM's top-tier offerings, yet it remains ultra-comfortable just as I would expect from True. The fiberglass construction is obviously a bit heavier than high-end carbon fiber boots, and the steel is mid-tier quality, as expected… but that aside, this is an insanely good skate, and has no business costing such a low price. It's a higher-end performance at lower-end pricing. CCM and Bauer should be nervous.
Wraps so well with heat mold and shrink wrapThis skate may feel odd before baking, but after baking/heat molding + shrink wrapping above the ankle, it wraps so well to your foot that there is no break in time, it conforms to your arch, ankle, and little bumps on the outer side of the foot such that it doesn't slide at all inside the boot. My coach told me I accidentally got 0.5-1 size larger, but this molds so well and locks in my foot with no slippage/pain/loss of responsiveness that I wouldn't have known had my coach not pointed it out!
Importantly, do get some shrink wrap and follow the skate store instructions in the leaflet. It will fit much more tightly at the top eyelets! (Else you'd have to tie the skates super tight if the top parts weren't heat molded well)
Best in class comfortThe best skates I have ever had! After having baked them, they fit perfectly. They didn't even need a break-in period. They are sturdy and comfy at the same time, and the sizes mentioned in the table are perfect. Quick delivery and great customer service overall. Recommended!
Prefect for wider feetI tried multiple fit profiles with both Bauer and CCM and never got what I was looking for. These are a perfect fit with no issues yet. I would recommend it to anyone with a wide foot. Materials seem to be on par with or better than the 400+ dollar competitors' skates I had before these.

Comments: They are great. The only stock skate I have had that fit my wide foot. Make sure to trace and measure your feet. They do run a little different from other brands, but that is what I like the most about them.

Comments: First pair of skates I've had since I was in high school, so obviously not an expert. My kids are learning to skate so I decided to get a pair to skate with them. Didn't want to spend a ton but wanted something comfortable. Decided to give the TF7's a try. Very comfortable and no foot pain so no complaints. Seem well made for the money. Shipping was quick. I would recommend these skates as an affordable option for anyone.

Comments: Most comfortable skates ever! I've always had issues with any skate I tried, but these felt about 95% out of the box, with baking making them completely wrap and feel amazing. These do fit/run a little bigger in some ways, so you may have to try a size or two for the perfect one. True really has something with these retail skates and I hope they keep making them!

Comments: These skates are great, and I'm really happy with my purchase. I've had trouble finding skates to fit my feet (average ankle but wider forefoot). When I first tried these on, they were kind of tight, but after baking, they fit really well. Beyond the way they mold to your feet, they're just a good pair of skates, from the stiffness of the boot to the amount of padding inside.

Comments: Great skates. Comfortable to play. I would recommend it to try. I've tried before Supreme S160, Nexus N7000. Maybe it's not fair comparisons due to higher price but it worth it to pay more for the True skates. I've noticed also that blades steel better and required less to sharpen.

Comments: This is my first pair of ice hockey skates and I picked a good one. I have difficult to fit feet - wide forefeet, high arches and short toes. Most skates either squeeze my feet or are way too long. The TF7's were the only ones I found that fit perfectly after baking. I highly suggest buying a size down. I tried on CCM and Bauer, and fit a full size down from those in the Trues. After baking, the skates fit a half size larger than pre-baking. I would try on before baking and you want a VERY tight fit. After baking, they should hug your fit perfectly. I love the rigidity of the boot too, especially for the price. Great stiffness and single piece for sub-$400 is great value.

Comments: I'm amazed at the performance and comfort of these skates. As other reviews say I would go a half size down from what you're normally in. I'm coming from a 7.5d ccm 68k ribcor skate and I bought a 7r in the Trues. Pre bake the skate feels too small and once they are baked the toe box seems to expand out and then wraps around your foot while cooling. I followed the baking instructions using the shrink wrap option and they formed to my feet very well. The steel that comes with the skates seems way better than other stock steel in my experience. The adjustable tongue is also a very nice feature as it does adjust the volume of the skate and it's noticeable if you needs to make a change. This easily could be a 5 or 600 dollar skate for 330 bucks which is an amazing value. The only change I had to make was adding my superfeet insoles from my old skates and they are golden.

Comments: Looks good, feels good! Great price!
From: Glenn, Kent, WA, 1/10/22
Comments: Baked the skates and used the plastic packaging wrap method to get a tight fit. The skates feel great, however I did not like the stock footbed, so I purchased a set of Superfeet and then the skates felt much better. I had no issues with my feet after my first skate.
