Overview
Smith Horseshoe Knee Gaskets are neoprene braces that have additional impact-absorbing padding directly around the knee. Designed to be worn alone or under pads for extra protection, these knee gaskets will provide another level of support, comfort, and safety to skaters with weak or injured knees. AmazingAbsolutely amazing under knee pads. I also bought a set to work out. My 50 yr old knees appreciate it.
Great knee protectionThese gaskets are a happy medium between wearing no knee protection and full on plastic capped knee pads. They will prevent you from skinning your knee when you fall on concrete or other surfaces. They easily fit underneath a pair of loose fitting jeans and have no effect on mobility. Especially in a discipline like street skating where falls are more or less inevitable do yourself a favor and get these, and say goodbye to bleeding knees.
Best for derbyI can't wear knee pads without gaskets for roller derby. These keep my pads from slipping or moving when I take a fall which has literally saved my knees. The scabs gaskets fit really well, great length for coverage using multi different brands of knee pads. The knee cap gap is excellent for a great fit and keeps them secure and comfortable.

Comments: I haven't taken any spills yet, so I can't speak to how protective they are, but I've been wearing these as a standalone knee pad for urban skating and have found them extremely comfortable. They dry fairly quickly too, which is nice if you want to wear them on back-to-back days. They recommend washing after each use, but I've been cleaning them every 3 skates or so and it's been fine.
