Overview
The RipTide 10mm Skate Cushions 4-Packs are here to solve some of your block compatibility issues. Sometimes cushions take up too much space, especially when installing slide or grind blocks for street or park skating so having the option to size down with so many hardnesses available is a huge blessing for skaters that know what they want. They are made to be positioned in between your trucks and plates but they can be used in other ways as well of course.
They have two different formulas with a range of durometers, the "APS" and "Krank" formula. Please refer to the chart below to choose the perfect hardness for you!
RIPTIDE HARDNESSES EXPLAINED | |
---|---|
APS The "APS" formula is a very bouncy and popular formula among a wide range of skaters from any outdoor beginner to derby jammers or switches and street skaters that need high-rebound. APS ranges from 65A-8A but 75A-80A is a more ideal medium for most riders. |

KRANK The "Krank" formula is tougher, harder and faster ranging from 84A-90A. 84A would be great for a skater that wants to dip their toes into a harder cushion without losing too much fluidity. As a rule of thumb: harder cushions are great for stability and feel softer for heavier skates, while softer cushions are more ideal for agility and skaters that are lighter in weight as they allow more free movement. |
