Overview
The CCM Tacks AS-V Shin Guard offers truly elite-level protection, coverage, and fit for the highly competitive player but at an unbeatable price. CCM added their premium D3O Foam in key impact areas; knee doughnut, calf guard, and the lower shin cap for pro-level impact protection against blocked shots and heavy slashes.
The kneecap also utilizes CCM's JDP Construction to better disperse impact energy away from the joint and into the surrounding protection. Up top, molded EVA foam adds protection to the lower thigh while its FlexMotion design helps to reduce interference with hockey pants.
CCM included their AdaptFit in the calf strap and lower liner. Players can adjust their calf straps to match their calf size, giving them the perfect fit. AdaptFit on the lower liner means players can now adjust it to match their skating style. If players wear their shin guard over their skate tongue, they can simply remove the lower portion of the liner. For players who prefer to wear their shin guard underneath the skate tongue, they can leave this piece on and ensure the shin guard sits close to the leg and eliminates any gap in protection!

Sizing Chart
GENERAL SHIN GUARD SIZING GUIDELINES |
|
---|---|
Sitting at a 90-degree angle, measure from the bottom of your kneecap to the top of your foot parallel to your ankle and round to the nearest inch. This measurement equals your shin guard size when worn over the skate tongue. Correspond this measurement with the "Tongue In" column below. This is the most popular style since it offers more coverage and the best mobility. | |
If you prefer to wear the shin guard under the skate tongue, simply subtract 1" from your measurement, which equals going one pad size down. This style provides a lighter and lower-profile fit. |
