The Athena has a low profile that keeps the wheels closer to the boot and the boot closer to the ground than most other plates, which lowers center of gravity and improves response and control, especially for edge work. The 20-degree kingpin angle strike a harmonious balance between stability and maneuverability, with action that's perfectly suited for roller derby.
