Overview
The Powerslide Urban Skate Brake Mount works with many Powerslide urban skates (and some other brands). Brake compatibility will depend on the frame being used.
Have rockerable frames? This brake will NOT mount to rockerable frames using the included axles. Most rockerable frames use rotating axles to adjust wheel height and do not allow for a brake... unless you have a special axle that is threaded at both ends.
FR Skates (and Seba Skates) offer a compatible axle that allows for brakes to be mounted to their rockerable frames (FR/Seba Rockerable Brake Axles (FRAXL X2R). We tested this brake axle on Flying Eagle and Powerslide rockerable frames, and it works! It may not seat perfectly flush in all instances, but it works if looking to get a brake onto frames with rockering axles. To install this brake on rockerable frames, you'll need to purchase the FR double-threaded axles separately.
HOW TO INSTALL:
The axles included with this brake mount have a Torx 25 head. A Torx tool is recommended to tighten/loosen.
Powerslide Wicked Hardcore Tool or the Rollerblade Bladetool Pro include both 4mm and Torx 25 tools.
1) Remove the rear two axles on the frame wanting to install the brake
2) Replace with two of the brake axles supplied (short axles are for frames using one-piece axles)
3) Slide the brake mount over the outside of the frame and fasten it with the screws (2) on both ends of the brake axles.
