The True Catalyst 9 Skate was designed for ultimate fit and mobility in an ultra-lightweight package. The full composite carbon fiber one-piece boot sheds weight while maximizing explosiveness, all without sacrificing the extra moldability that results in the custom-like fit and feel that True Hockey is known for.
Internally, the HydroFoam clarino liner is exclusively showcased by the Catalyst family. This pro-preferred and pro-inspired design is supremely comfortable while the first-class moisture-wicking and abrasion-resistance keep the skates light and long-lasting.
Also unique to the Catalyst 9 skate is the multi-layer and reinforced True Pro tongue. With key layers for comfort and impact absorption, players can skate with confidence knowing the True Pro is there to protect them. The PFS or Performance Fit System keeps the bottom of the foot happy since it can be quickly adjusted to support foot types with low, medium and high arches.
For the ultimate fitting experience that can be done without leaving the house, make sure to first Bake Your Skates at Home and then Check for Proper Skate Fit. If you are still unsatisfied with how they fit and feel, simply use the included pre-paid return label.

True Catalyst 9 skates at 50% off!I bought a pair of Catalyst 9's two months ago and was extremely impressed by the comfort, fit and ankle support. Other than a minor blad resurface, the break-in period was pretty much non-existent!
I have no idea why the skates have gone down in price by 50% since then (rumors of boot and blade problems in the pro version) but I was perfectly happy to pick up a second pair since I'm on the ice 6-7 times a week.
New True bootsFirst new skates in 7 years, and man - tech has changed a lot since then. Cat 9's are super light, stiff in a good way, and so much more comfortable and easier on the old man's foot bones than my previous pair with the anatomical shape, heat molding, cushioning, and less dead space for your foot to move around in. While these are off the shelf and not full custom, you could have fooled my feet - they feel like they were made just for me. The steel is a lot taller than my old set and that's taken me 3 games to get used to, but I no longer drag my runners when I cut hard. If I could give these six stars out of five, I would. Glad I didn't wait any longer to upgrade my boots, I will enjoy hockey more now that I have these.
Comfort and functionSkates are great. I recommend buying the Genetix insoles with them from the start and heat mold them with those insoles. Same insoles as the custom catalyst and the adjustable footbed system can be annoying when the arch supports dont stay in place after each use (if you use those you will want to super glue them in place once you have the fit right). They fit like a glove. Very comfortable especially on the high ankle area. Agility is fantastic. Steel does have what feels like a heel lift, helps with agility and stability but will take a few skates to get used to. Also buy a set of laces, the stock laces are fat and way too long. I like these better than my high-end Super Tacks. Build quality and weight is on par with other brands top offerings.
Nice skatesHands down, the most comfortable skates I've ever worn. Great looking, great performance. The only concern is how they will hold up to 5 day a week skating and the abuse of games. Time will tell.
Skates so nice I bought them twiceI have been looking for a replacement for my old Graf skates for the past few years without too much luck. I have tried a pair of TF9 skates which are nice but once I got a pair of these I fell in love. I coach, ref, and play so I am on the ice quite a few times a day during the week and the pricing has allowed me to pick up 2 pairs of these for the same price as a pair of customs. These fit amazingly. The main thing I love about the TF series is the stiffness is there but has a good flex in the proper places. Compared to the top-end skates from CCM or Bauer these are a bargain. If you are unsure don't hesitate they are worth it for sure. The only question is durability since they still are new and that will only come with time.
Similar experience to the previous review. The blade that comes with these skates are bent. If you have these skates, check them. Take the blade out of the holder, put in on a flat surface with the blade on its side and see if it will rock end to end or looks wavy. Apparently this is a known issue with these Catalyst skates. The hockey pro shop where I bought these replaced the blades with the upgraded DLC steel. In fact True sent them out numerous DLC blades to replace the original steel on their Catalyst skates. With the new DLC steel, my son who at 15 y.o. plays 18UAA, is really liking these skates.

The steel was wavy! Got new ones but seeing this is supposed to be too in this line YOU would think the steel would be better quality!! Little disappointed in that but the boot & when good steel is in very awesome!!! Overall I strongly recommend this skate! Had the Ultrasonic skates & this way outperforms them in my opinion!!
