Powerslide Reign Ares 80 Skates. The Ares is the flagship Reign skate, with a carbon composite shell and 3-D Recall Padding. Trinity frame mounting allows for customization and easy changes if wanting to change wheel configurations. The Ares is game ready for hockey players, and urban skaters love them too! TRINITY mounting has a winged mount under the ball of the foot that lowers the skate to provide stability, control, and power at push-off. EGO SL (Super Light) 4x80 frames are light, strong (extruded aluminum), and responsive (9.6" in length axle to axle). The frames are adjustable both side to side AND front to back. This allows correction of ankle roll, to tweak to preference, or be removed altogether! Ares boots are compatible with any trinity mount frame from Powerslide should you want to change wheel configurations. Powerslide Trident Dual-Density 80mm XGrip Wheels and Wicked ABEC9 Bearings. Although high-end wheels, they are best suited for indoor hockey. If skating outdoors they feel great but would wear fairly quickly and it is recommended to replace with harder urethane afterward. Ego SL frames are compatible with the Powerslide Urban Brake SM.

|---|---|
| Trinity X Mounting The combination of the 'along' mounting block of the boot with the 'across' mounting slot of the frame. This allows for frame adjustment both laterally (7mm) and front to back (8mm) to individual preference and/or to correct ankles from wanting to roll (pronation/supination). Trinity frames mount at three points with two off-set winged mounts under the ball of the foot that creates a channel for the wheels to lower the skate, adding stability and power at push-off. |

Previous Feedback
Comments: I picked these up for the Trinity mount system and set them up with the 100mm Endless frames. I picked up the pre TRS Lightnings in 1988, so I have been skating for hockey practice for a while. The Ares are well made but they aren't comparable to a modern hockey skate. I am having fun with them double-poling with skate ski poles.
