Overview
Powerslide Zoom 80 Inline Skates. The Zoom is Powerslide's entry point to molded plastic shell urban boots. They are great for cruising around, urban skating, or for use as transportation. Large-volume shells are easy to get on and off, with lots of room at the toes.
MyFit Dual-fit Liners are cozy and easy to size and with dual buckle closures, you have great support. Trinity mount frames keep you low to the ground, stable, and have better power during push-off. If looking to add speed later on, trinity frames are easily swapped out for others of different wheel configurations.
Features 80mm 86A wheels and ABEC7 bearings. No brake included but compatible with Powerslide HABS Brake Mount SM/MD.

Comfortable skates, great valueI am 6'5", 185 lbs. and my feet measure 292mm long by 112mm wide. Most of the width is in the forefoot, while my heel and ankle are normal or even narrow. I bought the 11.0 - 12.5 size and I've skated on them for about 15 hours so far. I was a total novice in January when I bought my first pair of skates (Macroblade 80s in size 12), and I bought these because I wanted more support as I progressed my skills toward intermediate.
I really wanted to try on a bunch of skates to find the one that best fit my foot. But as far as I can tell, there are no stores that stock a selection of hard boot skates within reasonable driving distance of my house. I could have ordered a bunch of options and then shipped back all but my favorite one, but I hated to think that a store would end up losing money in the process. I was left to scour the internet for reviews and boot dimensions and take my best guess. So far, I'm very happy with the model and size that I selected.
From what I could gather, my wider forefoot would probably rule out several popular options that tend to run narrow. Additionally, I appreciated the front-back stability of my Macroblades, and as a tall guy with big feet I was wary of going with a typical 4x80 with 243mm frames. I didn't completely rule out swapping frames, but I was most interested in options that wouldn't require me to spend $100+ extra right out of the gate. That left me deciding between the Zoom Pro 80, the FR1 90, the RB Pro X (probably swap frames), and the Rollerblade Maxxum XT (maybe too narrow?).
I decided on the Zoom Pro 80 for four main reasons: 1) the boot shape appeared well-suited to my foot, 2) they come with a 275mm frame offering stability and the option to move to 84mm or 90mm wheels in the future, 3) the lower CG, increased rigidity, and adjustability of the Trinity system was intriguing, and 4) my foot was toward the larger end of the shell's stated size range. And honestly, while I knew that the FR1 90 might feel more premium in some areas, being half the price of the FR1 90 didn't hurt.
I wondered or even worried about the following: 1) would the skates look or feel cheap, 2) would the shell fit snugly enough, especially in the cuff, and 3) would the Trinity adapter offset some of the advantages that might be easier to achieve in dedicated boots like the Powerslide Next? I had questions and/or reservations about the other skates I was considering as well, and that made deciding on a skate and size without seeing anything in person very challenging for me.
My experience with the skates has been a mix of the above. While the inside of the shell seems unnecessarily long (I measured 320mm) the length isn't critical and the rest of the fit is great for my foot and ankle. I still have solid control after some break-in, the ratchets have a lot of room to go, and I'm still wearing my thinnest socks. The stock liners are comfortable, and I've yet to feel like I need to take a break to get the blood flowing again. My forefoot was a little squeezed side-to-side in my Macroblades (even more so in ice skates), but these offer a solid foundation that I really appreciate, especially when I have all of my weight on one foot. The fit and comfort alone make these a worthwhile upgrade. Finally, the look and feel are better than I was expecting based on pictures and some owner comments.
The Trinity system is probably a minor win at best. It looks to me like the adapter adds 5-10 mm of additional ride height compared to what you could get with a molded-in Trinity mount, which probably makes it comparable to a typical 165mm mount. I also experimented with a few different frame positions, and ultimately I ended up with everything centered. But the adapter seems plenty solid, and I do feel a lot less vibration when riding on asphalt as compared to my Macroblades. So, a small step forward for me, even if FR's 165mm system with aluminum mounting plates might be just as good.
Summing it all up, I'm really happy. The skates are solid, and the value is outstanding. They are skates I'm excited to put on and happy to be skating in for one to two hours at a time. I may try the FRs at some point in the future, but for now I'm in no hurry to trade up.
PerfectI have been skating a long time and always had my old trusty K2 skates (which I can’t find replacement parts for anymore!). It was time to find new blades and after a few tries /returns …. These are absolutely perfect. I have room in the cuff that I’m not “stifled” and stuck in one position but not so much that I’m swimming around in them :) there is plenty of room in the toe area and the bunions on my big toes are not squashed at all! I replaced them with 80mm for the middle 2 wheels and 76mm on the outside wheels for maneuverability - love them! I wear a shoe size 8.5 in normal shoes and bought the 9-10 blades. Women’s … but I think these blades are unisex.

Comments:They're a smooth ride, but be sure you get the correct size. I wear a Men's US 10.5 in regular shoes/sneakers, so I bought the size 11 skates. They roll super smooth, but I have way too much space in the boot and frame so it's difficult to remain stable on them. I'm returning them to try a smaller pair (the size 9 - 10) to see if that makes a difference.
All-in-all I felt like rolling was smooth and comfortable, but the lack of stability and security caused me to topple over a few times due to the skates not being snug on my feet. Size down and you should be OK!
