Overview

Powerslide Xenon 90 Black Mens Inline Skates. At 4x90mm, this Xenon is sporty and quick, but not so fast that it can't be enjoyed by most. It can be skated recreationally, but 90mm is even better for fitness and cross-training. Trinity mounting makes them easy to skate and easy to to change to other wheel configurations if/when wanting.

Integrated dual-density foam liners (not removable) and Powerknit uppers provide multiple layers of padding for comfort. Support is then added with the help of glass-fiber cuffs and shells. Short 10.8" frames (removable and adjustable) keep agility high. Trinity mounting gives stability by lowering the skate height and incorporating a winged mount under the ball of the foot. The boots are compatible with any trinity mount frame from Powerslide should you want to change wheel configurations later on. Trinity X means that the frames can adjust both laterally and front to back. This is done to correct ankles from wanting to roll to one side or the other (adjust the same direction ankles tend to roll). Height Adjustable Brake System (HABS) let you adjust the pad height to prolong life.

Specifications

KEY TECHNOLOGIES
Trinity X Mounting
The combination of the 'along' mounting block of the boot with the 'across' mounting slot of the frame. This allows for frame adjustment both laterally (7mm) and front to back (8mm) to individual preference and/or to correct ankles from wanting to roll (pronation/supination). Trinity frames mount at three points with two off-set winged mounts under the ball of the foot that creates a channel for the wheels to lower the skate, adding stability and power at push-off.
HABS Height Adjustable Brake System
An easy and secure brake that allows for the brake pad to adjust up and down to prolong the life of the rubber. A rear axle that is threaded at both ends allows for the installation and removal of the brake with four outer screws that eliminate having to remove the axle or wheel.

Previous Feedback

Comments: I purchased these skates mainly because it was a 4x90mm skate and needed a pair of skates to use as transportation between buildings at my university. The overall material choice and build quality is superb. The liner used is extremely dense and provides passable comfort for long skate sessions. The power delivery great compared to an old set 4 x 76mm I had from rollerblade. The wheels and bearing rolled smoothly allowing me to maintain a fairly high top speed around campus. The straps and lacings are very rugged and easy to use making mounting and dismount the skates quick and easy. The 83A wheel durometer is ok around concrete. I would have preferred at least 85A for the pavement around campus but that's easily solved by some wheel replacements. Lastly, the biggest issue is size, I purchased a size 7 as my shoe size in US is 7 and my feet are 24cm to 24.3cm long which should be within the 24.8 cm size chart according to the sizing chart listed for the product as of 5/8/21. Out of the box, they didn't fit too well, however, I just attributed that to the liner still being extremely stiff and rigid. I had hoped to "break-in" the skates after a couple of days of skating, but found no such luck. Still extremely tight around the metatarsal area of the foot even after days of skating. So to those wanting to purchase this skate, I do recommend it but get it a size above your shoe size or a couple cm bigger than your normal cm measurement.

Comments: have been riding on these for about 3-4 weeks now after a many year hiatus from inline skating. I probably ride a total of 4-5 hrs a week on them and have flipped the wheels once and cleaned the bearings once and they are rolling as good as day 1. They have been great as fitness skates and I also take them to the rink occasionally, they perform well in both settings. I will echo what I have seen others saying about wheels and fit. First the stock wheels could be a bit harder, they are nice and grippy on well paved concrete and at the skating rink, but are a bit soft for the rough roads that plague my city. Second, the fit for me is perfect but I bought a size above what I normally wear. I bought 11 Men's US and usually wear 10-10.5. Other things I would think about if buying again for the first time are the boot and the mounting. The mostly soft-boot is pretty good for casual skating but I get a lot of flex when I try and go top speed with hard pushes. So keep in mind they are great for more casual fitness skating, and not speed skating. The Trinity mounting is also really nice for making adjustments, but it keeps you locked into the Powerslide family. It seems PS offers many different frame and boot options in the Trinity mount family, but still, you can only buy from them, I haven't seen aftermarket Trinity frames. I would definitely recommend these for beginners/Intermediates who want to do more casual skating. One final thing for any Powerslide representatives reading, please switch the hex head mounting screws with a Torx head. I bought Stainless Steel M6-1.0mm Torx button head screws from McMaster Carr along with a T-30 t-handle driver and it is way easier to get good torque on the screws without worrying about stripping them(which I did do on one screw in about the first week).

Comments: These are my first pair of inline skates at the age of 42 to train in the off-season for snow skiing while living in SE Texas. I bought these skates after using several research tools on the website to help narrow down a good starting pair. Wanted something not to hard on the wallet (but not a cheap set either), good all-around recreation set for indoor/outdoor, and with good durability I could grow into. I been skating with these in the driveway almost every morning before work for 15~30 minutes for the last 6 months and at our local indoor rink on weekends-I LOVE THEM!.
