Overview

The Powerslide Next Core 80 Skates - Black has an extremely versatile design with customizable elements to the boot and Trinity Frame Mounting which is compatible with a lot of different frame options if wanting to change later on.

The Next boots have been a staple for urban skaters to get onto the roads with a lightweight and durable shell. They have three closures to lock your feet in with standard lacing, an adjustable cuff buckle, and a velcro strap that holds your heel in place. Inside they have Basic Dual-Fit Liners that are super comfortable with MYFIT Recall memory foam that hugs your foot. Down below they have very strong, 3D-casted ADC10 aluminum frames that use Trinity 3-point mounting. The Trinity mounting brings your foot closer to the ground which makes you feel more stable and provides better power-transfer by connecting closely to your major pressure points. Inside those frames, they hold 4x80mm Powerslide Spinner wheels and Wicked ABEC9 bearings which provide an excellent roll. A brake is not included however, they are compatible with Powerslide HABS Brake Mount SM/MD.

KEY TECHNOLOGIES
Trinity X Mounting
The combination of the 'along' mounting block of the boot with the 'across' mounting slot of the frame. This allows for frame adjustment both laterally (7mm) and front to back (8mm) to individual preference and/or to correct ankles from wanting to roll (pronation/supination). Trinity frames mount at three points with two off-set winged mounts under the ball of the foot that creates a channel for the wheels to lower the skate, adding stability and power at push-off.

Good quality, tight fitSkates seem to be made well, but I found them to be very tight on the top of my feet to the point where I ended up with brushburn marks on my skin. I've read reviews where these can be heated up and stretched a little or they will fit better as they wear in. I currently have the 12-12.5 US M skates whereas I usually wear a 9.5 or 10 US M shoe and they still seem snug. (Maybe I just have high arches??). Overall, I love the way they look and i really want to make these work, so I am going to try to keep skating them and hope for a break-in period to happen. I also ordered a smaller trinity mount iqon frame (to swap on the boot) as I feel that the 275 frame for 90 wheels is a little long ,,,,these powerslides come with 80mm wheels which keeps them low to the ground, but I'm not sure why the frame needs stretched for longer boots... I guess that's just a new manufacturing trend ? Or maybe I just never paid attention when i was younger. Anyway, I would say these skates are 100% worth trying out.

Solid skate for the priceSolid skate for the price. The liner is very comfortable and bearings are very smooth. I upgraded to Nova frames, Reds bearings (faster but not as smooth). And Hyper wheels (wanted black) It’d cost you less to get the upgraded version out the gate. Either way you’ll be happy.

Skate reviewI loved everything about my power slides skates except they were just too tight. I bought them directly from your warehouse. I actually ordered them from a real person which was nice. The only thing that I have to say negatively is that he said your size 12 would fit me. I told him I wore 13. I also noticed you don’t carry any skates bigger than 12 ! That was also a negative.

Awesome companyI have this odd sized foot. They measure at 11.5 but the top of foot is high or something so I need 13.5 maybe. Had to return. Skates have come a long way. Return policy makes it possible to try a bunch. Going to try Rollerblade Lightning 90 13s next. Wish me luck. If that doesn’t work, I’ll drive to visit ya. haha Mark

Great skate, minor flawsShoe size 9.5-10, ordered the 42/43 and fits perfectly. Hot spots on the inside of the foot where the strap buckle is, needed to take heat gun to them to push out the boot. Skates were fine thereafter.

Mixed emotionsI waited years to get a pair of these skates. Everyone raved about how amazing they are. Definitely a learning curve from my old Zetrablades. They're bulkier than my THEM aggressive skates but no grind pads so I didn't fully understand why they were that bulky. Getting them on was a struggle but after wearing them for several rides it's easier. Then there's the ankle pain on the right foot. Horrible. Had to cut a couple rides short because it made it so I couldn't skate anymore. Look online, people are saying to heat mold but these aren't moldable. Another guy says a heat gun, so I tried that a few times and I think it made a slight difference. Then someone say get footies (little half socks) also helped a little, but if you get ones with thick seams you feel that pressing into your feet. People suggested new liners but I couldn't bring myself to spend another $150-200 for liners. The skates are already expensive as is, plus the heat gun, plus the footies and still pain? Then someone suggested not tying them tight and not using any of the loops above the 45 strap. Also there's the top binding you have to cut to get it to close properly - it's designed to snip some off but that means damaging the skate and you can't return it if it's damaged - kinda felt like a trap to make me keep them. I did it tho! And with all the above, and some damaged skates they work pretty well now. Still some pain after an hour or two of skating but I think it's improving. When they work, they're amazing. When they don't, they really don't. I also think part of my frame is bent cuz the back wheel is hard to press in when changing them. But they skate fast! I also got some of the LED wheels from Powerslide and those are awesome. Just wish they'd look into the ankle pain and make adjustments. For the price it shouldn't be an issue.
