Overview
Powerslide Arise SL Inline Skates. This SL represents its focuses on speed slalom (SL). Made from high-end carbon, it is super light. The mid-cut boot allows for a high range in motion, but with good lateral support. The cuff can then be removed altogether if looking to use more as a racing boot. This is high-end, high-performance skate can be used to skate urban, freestyle slalom, downhill, or marathons depending on the setup you choose. We settled on 'Urban Freestyle' as it comes out of the box with its stock setup.
Carbon boots with built-in microfiber and mesh lining (no innersole) provide a stiff, firm wrap to give a high response. Short trinity mount Ego SL frames are agile and perfect for speed slalom when combined with Ultra High Rebound (UHR) UnderCover 110mm 85A Wheels and Wicked ABEC9 Bearings. Brake not included.

KEY TECHNOLOGIES | |
---|---|
Trinity X Mounting The combination of the 'along' mounting block of the boot with the 'across' mounting slot of the frame. This allows for frame adjustment both laterally (7mm) and front to back (8mm) to individual preference and/or to correct ankles from wanting to roll (pronation/supination). Trinity frames mount at three points with two off-set winged mounts under the ball of the foot that creates a channel for the wheels to lower the skate, adding stability and power at push-off. |

Sizing Chart
GENERAL SKATE SIZING GUIDELINES | |
---|---|
Measure both feet with socks similar to those in which you intend to skate. Then use the measurement of the longest point and reference the model-specific size chart to determine size. How to Measure Your Feet for Skates. | |
Proper fit has the toes not being cramped against the front. Toes may slightly brush the front as heels will settle back when in the skating position. Try on skates indoors while in a seated position. Lace and buckle both skates, tap your heels to the floor, and then stand and bend your knees to simulate the skating position. Previous Feedback
Comments: The fit of the boot is good except the heel hold-down points in the back are really tight. I've been skating and working with equipment for several decades, so I attempted to stretch the boot with a bake in the oven. I was able to loosen the skate a bit, but the heel hold-down padding continues to be a pressure point. The energy transfer from the boot plate through the frame is excellent, and the three-point frame mount is more stable than a two-point mount, especially with the larger wheels. The upper and lower ratchet straps are easy to adjust and have not slipped or degraded over the first several hundred miles. The cuff is very supportive. I swapped the frame to the Powerslide Elite Casted Magnesium Trinity 125mm. With a new wheel in the center of that frame on this boot rubs slightly on the strap running across the toe. Once the wheels are broken in a bit, there is no more rubbing. There is no ventilation in these boots, so they heat up after 10-12 miles on hot summer days. On cooler days, I don't notice the heating. On days over 25C (77F), the balls of my feet get hot first, even when using inline skate specific socks.
