Overview
The Lowry Ice Skate Blade Sharpening Tool has a ceramic tip that fits player and goalie hockey blades along with most figure skates, allowing you to repair nicks along the edge that hinder skating performance. This handy tool gets an edge back to your skate blades when there is no time to get a fresh sharpening. On the opposite end, a honing stone is used to remove smaller burrs and clean up the edges in between skate sharpenings.
To repair dull skate blade edges, place the skate blade between the white prongs and slide the ceramic tip with light pressure in one direction only. Repeat the process until you have the desired edge. To remove nicks and burrs, place the stone flat onto the side of the blade. Using light pressure, rub in one direction only. Repeat until the abrasion is removed. Do not over-rub.
The Lowry Blade Sharpening Tool does not replace professional skate sharpening. It should be used between sharpenings and for emergency purposes.
