Give it a chance, you'll love itI was a diehard acme thunderer ref and hated the sound of this whistle when it first came out. I now like it because it takes far less effort to blow this whistle. The rubber flexible grip and mouthpiece is very comfortable. Easy to clean, no need to apply tape unlike metal whistles.

Comments: Too high pitched.Got one awhile ago then had to return it.Other refs thought it was more of a basketball whistle.The metal one is the one you want.
