Echo Sonar 4 Wheel Freeskates are were created for city skating down narrow streets and crowded urban environments where control and agility are crucial to staying safe and enjoying your session. This iteration is a 4-wheel setup that utilizes Echo's amazing Flush Mount technology to attach it's aluminum CNC-machined frames. The frame actually slides into slots on the bottom of the shell and then it gets affixed with five small screws. These screws attach to hardware inside of the shell and they actually can be laterally adjusted to fine tune the frame's alignment under your feet. When all is said and done, none of these bolts or fittings are visible while you're skating, which leads to a really clean looking skate.
But more importantly, that Flush Mount technology means that these Echo Sonar inline skates have an extremely low ride height and a different mechanism for power transfer than traditionally mounted frames. A lower ride height translates into more stability and a lower center of gravity that improves the overall balance and feel of the skate. Even better, the way the frame slides into the "wings" on the bottom of the shell creates a more efficient transfer of energy in every stride. More power, more control, more maneuverability, all because Echo broke the mold and came up with something radical. On this edition of their Sonar Skate, the two-piece axles have rockerable spacers that allow you to adjust up to 2mm to create slalom and wizard setups.
The shell and cuff on Echo Sonar 4 skates are made using high quality polypropylene (PP) with fiber reinforcements and include design elements like a slight heel raise, adjustable power strap buckle, and a deep V cut for flexibility. The liner is made with neoprene, lycra, EVA foam, and polyester and is individually sized to each skate size so that the fit is responsive and comfortable for every rider. The high-rebound PU wheels are 85A and vary by skate size - 80mm for sizes 4.5 - 9.0 and 90mm for sizes 10.0 and up.
