The CCM Ultimate ABS Hockey Blades are ideal for outdoor hockey, regardless of the surface it will be used on. The CCM Ultimate Blade uses a strong, ABS reinforcement that can be used on rough concrete or pavement, unlike traditional wood blades. This blade also has a very popular heritage because of these features and dates back to the classic Koho Ultimate 2100.

Correction to earlier reviewWhat has CCM done to the great Ultimate stick blades? These were so very good when Koho and Reebok made them back in the day. My earlier review was based on finding these and playing with them once or twice. Those couple times was like playing with an old friend because they did feel right. But...I've gone through more than 10 of them (maybe 20) and they just fail way prematurely. If the fiberglass lamination isn't falling apart at the hosel it is blade at the toe - or both! The composite layup is a real problem! And I know quite a good deal about composites. CCM, please get this right - surface prep, resin compatibility, and wet-out. For now I'll continue to go with another brand that I found some time ago - at least until this gets fixed.

It falls apartBought 2 as replacements for frontier blades, first one lasted through 2 games before breaking apart where the hosel meets the blade. Waiting for the second to do the same, haven't taken any real hard shots with it yet. Replacing with fischer blades asap. DO NOT waste your money.

Waste of moneyWith price of two blades, which lasted less than a game each, I should have purchased an ABS full stick, and I would have it for months. Guys, don't touch this blade. It's very poorly made, and it's a waste of money.

Production has seemed to changeI used the Reebok 20k blades for years and when CCM merged with Reebok they were discontinued so I started using these as a replacement. I buy these in batches of two or three for dek hockey and an outdoor roller league I play in. They held up great and I even recommended them to a friend. But the last batch we bought completely fell apart (7 blades between teammates), they fall apart where the hosel meets the blade after just a couple shots during warm-ups. CCM won't replace them after 30 days, so don't waste your money.

Best blade for outdoorsI've been playing with these blades since they were the Koho Ultimate. After that, it was Reebok Ultimate and then I stopped playing for some years. When I picked back up, I couldn't find my Ultimate blades so I tried several others. None were equal. There were several that weren't very good and one that was not too bad. But now I found these and it is like playing with an old friend. These still outperform all others IMO.

Great for street hockey with my sonMy son Kyle has just started taking an interest in hockey, so I had to get a new blade! This has lasted many, many hours that for the price, I am more than surprised!

The best blade I've used for outdoor in terms of getting max life out of it. By the way, if your heel is wearing out faster than the rest of your stick it's likely because you're leaning on it. Try not leaning so far forward, OR cut down the length of your shaft.

Poor designBought this for a weekly roller game on smooth concrete. After about a month of use I've noticed two problems: 1) the heel wears down long before the rest of the blade. Could it be slightly wider? 2) The laminate on either side of the ABS core peels off quickly. Wouldn't buy again.
