While the pro-inspired shell looks just like what the pros wear on TV, the dual-layer foam liner is the superstar of this helmet.
With a dense base foam and a plush top foam, the Tacks 70 balances fit, comfort and impact protection perfectly. The soft top layer shapes and forms to the head for a near-perfect fit while the dense base foam does the heavy lifting for impact management. Finally, CCM designed the foam liner to work in sync with the plastic shell by allowing cooling airflow without compromising strength in the least.

Overall greatOverall I think it’s a great helmet. Not really much bad about it. The one dislike I have is the fact that I am not able to move the chin cup were I need it.
Decent helmet for the priceI am satisfied with this helmet.
Good value helmetAs a beginner, I’ve had a few falls/collisions resulting in light-to-moderate bumps on the head, and I haven’t had any problems or concussion symptoms. Obviously, try to avoid this as much as possible, especially by taking skating classes and not going too crazy out there with speed and/or dangerous plays. Anyway, this helmet is good value for a beginner. Note: Before taking out on the ice, check that the cage screws are properly tightened (mine were loose out of the box).
Fit perfectA great fitting helmet.
Great helmet for the priceI play once a week in an adult league and this helmet has worked out great for me. I had the Bauer IMS 5 helmet, but it pinched me a bit. Plus after comparing both of them side by side, the Tacks 70 is much lighter than the IMS 5.
