Overview
The Bont 2PF 6061 Frame is an excellent way to introduce inline speed skaters to Bont's impressive quality and performance at an affordable price.
Bont applied the same design principles that they used in their 7050 frames. By using 6061 aluminum, they were able to drop the price point and make the amazing technology available to more skaters. The foundation of their inline frame library, the 2PF 6061 frame is found on many Bont inline packages and in decades, Bont has never had a single inline frame crack! Nice light and stiff frameThese are a nice set of frames that are well machined (cast and milled maybe?). Often frames at this price point are two flat plate metal rails that have been cut and welded to the cross piece, but I think these are cast, or have considerably more machining. They're light, stiff, and look premium.
My only complaint with these frames (thus the 4 stars) is there is a channel the boot bolts sit in, and that channel is too narrow for the head of the bolts that came with my Bont SemiRace III boots. I found it odd that a Bont frame wasn't compatible with bolts that came with a current Bont boot, or that the frame didn't come with appropriately sized bolts. Something to keep in mind when ordering - ask for bolts that work with this frame.
