I've been trying to make a comeback to rolling but am
lacking in the equipment department. I have continued
to use my Salomon Feinberg skates and have only needed
to replace the soleplates and frames. But I have grown
tired of its look and needed something new to it.
I was sick of Salomon's "tight" skate like and have
been a fan of RB TRS' "shoe" like since they
premiered. I went out and bought a pair of RB Alpha
skins to slip over the Salomons. However, they were a
VERY tight squeeze just to get them slightly in. So,
to mimic the RB shells, I cut off the top segment of
the boot's foot to allow for a bit more room. It was
risky; if it still didn't fit, I would have a wrecked
pair of Feinbergs. Luckily, I got them barely in the
skins and took off the buckle. I cut out some holes of
the skins to align with the Salomon's UFS bolts. I
screwed the soleplates back on with the Widebody and
frames. And it was done! It was everything I hoped
for. It feels and looks like a brand new pair of
skates. Now I'm ready to roll in style!
****Warning: Modify at your own risk. Some modifications require that you sand or shave down the boot. Doing so will void the manufacturer's warranty. Also, if you mess up, your skate may no longer be rideable. Inline Warehouse does not take any responsibility for damages.
