The Rollerblade TRS skate series has been great since day one. I said it once and I'll say it again. Great skates. Not only is this one of the best all around skates right out of the box,. It's also very much customizable.
A lot of people find their TRS to be too stiff. "I don't get enough flex," is what I hear a lot. Well, that problem is easily fixed. The plastic that goes under the male part of your buckle system is your "flex blocker", so to speak. If you look at other skate manufacturers they don't even have this part on their skates. Buckle your skates as if you were gonna hit some rails. You can see how much extra plastic there is there. Give it a look. By using scissors, you can cut that flap right off and instantly give your TRS better flex capabilities.
If your foot is a bit wider, or you want to stick in some after market liners, you can open up the shape of the skeleton just by shaving the plastic with a razor. This also adds to the flex of your skate. Take it slow and make sure what you do to one side, you're gonna hook up to the other.
You can also move your buckle over to accommodate a larger liner. All you gotta do is carve a rectangle with a razor blade an inch or so over. Pretty much copy the stock hole you see, but over just a bit.
I tried something a little different with my liner. My TRS started as a '03 Estilo. I had been skating them with Reign liners (hence the above modifications). My liner was just about spent, but I love the Reign tongue. The whole liner is sick, but the liner was over its time. I took a razor and sew these liners. So my girl hooked up a few stitches and I let the duct tape take over. This to me is a great combo and I love the liners so much more now. Just another idea to modify your skates.
