Comments:I totally LOVE these skates! After receiving my new Rollerblade Wing 50 skates, I had to wait one day
due to rain, and then had one evening to do a quick 'round-the-neighborhood test-drive of my new skates. I was impressed at
how comfortable these skates were right out of the box!
Then it was Friday, and time for San Francisco's Friday Night Skate! I had my best skate, EVER in my new Wings! I like my heel
absolutely snug in my skate, with no moving around, and in the past have had to tighten other skates to the point of forefoot-
numbness in order to compensate for heel-slip. The velcro power-strap on the Wings solved that problem; my heel stayed put,
and I could concentrate on skating. I found the skates seemed to be a tad larger than my actual 9.0 shoe size, and by going
down a half-size to 8.5, I got a perfect fit that would still accommodate my orthotic foodbeds.
I was surprised at the speed these skates have. On some of the milder uphills, I even found myself braking so as not to overtake
the leaders, and on the steeper uphills they cruised right along. The ride was amazingly smooth, especially for an aluminum
frame. My other skates (Rollerblade Activa 4D) had a pretty bouncy ride on rough surfaces). Brick sidewalks, cable-car tracks,
and even the diamond-plate surface inside the Broadway tunnel are no problem for the Wings. Even though the wheelbase is
slightly shorter than the Activas, when we were speeding downhill through the Stockton tunnel the Wing skates felt rock-solid.
BEST OF ALL, at the end of the skate I had NO foot pain whatsoever, and felt like I could do the whole skate over again that same
night. Today is Monday, and I'm already counting the days & hours until next Friday night!
