Cut Protection Level

The Vaughn 7700 Certified Cat Eye Goal Mask is Vaughn's mid range helmet, with similar styling and features as the Vaughn 9500.
The outer shell is constructed from a molded Lexan that is lightweight and rigid giving the mask great durability. The shells shape has been carefully contoured and molded, reducing flat spots in the design. This design helps reduce impacts in critical areas providing lighter weight and higher strength. The flared lower chin provides added rigidity and allows the goaltender to close off the area between the neck and chest for greater protection coverage. Full inner shell padding with no gaps in impact areas gives your head complete coverage and meets all new certification rules. Mechanically attached dual density vinyl nitrile (VN) padding provides exceptional protection, comfort and fit.
The cage design has been optimized to provide true vision sight lines and positions the cage bars to achieve maximum forward and peripheral vision. Cages are all constructed from high grade stainless steel with a low luster finish to reduce glare and blend into the ice surface to increase visibility. The stainless steel will not rust and provides added durability. All attachment hardware is manufactured in stainless steel for strength and durability to increase longevity. Full skull plate harness with heavy duty elastic straps and buckles provides complete adjustment; the chin cup features a quick change Velcro adjustment to allow the goaltender more options on fitting. Vent holes are positioned to facilitate rapid air ventilation and heat dispersal for cooler play.

Previous Feedback
Comments: He chose this helmet because of the cat eye cage. Had to adjust it for his comfort during play. After about a month or two of 2-3 times of week use the pad on the back head piece came off the piece that screwed to the back of the helmet. Used some glue to secure it but it came off a few weeks later. Tried to use Velcro but that didn't stay either. Called IW and they said "yea that happens and try to glue it on and they would contact the Vaughn". That's been a month and haven't heard back from anybody. It doesn't obstruct his play but it's just a nuisance and for the money it shouldn't be like that. My son really likes the helmet and I would recommend it anyway since it doesn't really interfere with its use. I'm disappointed with the lack of service from IW other then it happens. They have always been responsive in the past.

Comments: Great mask. Very comfortable and offers great vision. Keeps my head relatively cool. I let my buddy borrow it a couple times and he now wants to buy one. Would definitely recommend to anybody.

Comments: I had purchased the Vaughn 7700 Certified Cat Eye Sr. Goalie Mask about 8 months ago and I am very happy with it. The helmet feels very sturdy and fits very comfortably. I have taken multiple shots to the helmet and none of them have stung or damaged the mask at all. The only problem that I have had is with the material lining the chin cup coming off. I simply super glued it back on and it has stayed very nicely. Overall I am very satisfied with the helmet and would recommend it to anyone.
