Level of Play Definitions

Cut Protection Level

  • This is the general level of protection against cuts.

    • Minimum: Basic protection suitable for competitive play

The Vaughn Velocity V5 7260 goalie catcher has been scaled down to accommodate younger goalies and is designed for goaltenders playing up to the intermediate levels of ice hockey. The 7260 goalie glove is constructed with similar lightweight materials and foams as the Velocity 7460 offering solid protection.

The Velocity 7260 goalie glove has been improved by incorporating a flex palm break helping with a consistent fast break-in. The V5 graphics have been stitched on giving the goalie catcher a high quality look and feel.

Vaughn goalie gloves features a large catching surface with greater volume in the palm helping you to make the save. The dual bar T-web helps improve catching as well as puck retention.

High quality materials are used throughout the Vaughn Velocity 7260 including synthetic leather that is used on all of the high wear areas. Light breathable nylon materials are used to wick away moisture and provide protection to the back of the hand. The finger stalls are constructed using mesh materials that allow improved airflow and help keep you hands cooler during gameplay. Lining the palm of the 7260 catcher is a Nash synthetic leather that maintains a textured feel even when wet.

The fit on the Vaughn goalie glove comes from three adjustable straps, one across the fingers, another across the back of you hand and finally one at the wrist. The Vaughn Velocity strapping system allows for greater control and limits glove twist when taking hard shots on the edges. Adjustable knuckle straps allows the keeper to achieve a custom fit as well as gain more control.
