Overview

The Tour Spartan ZX Pro Hockey Helmet with Cage is the top of the line helmet from Tour.

Tour has used EPP foam on the ZX helmet for an advanced level of protection. Tour has also used thick comfort foams through out the helmet from increase comfort and some additional protection.

The ZX features the same shell design as the GX helmet.  This is a two piece shell design, that features a two screw on each side adjustment feature. These screws are covered giving it a clean look.

Comments: I bought this helmet because I have purchased other Tour equipment (skates and inline pants) and have been impressed with their products. The first day I received this helmet I noticed that the small pieces of plastic that cover the adjustment screws were not very secure. As expected, they fell off in warm-ups the first time I wore it. I have had to use electrical tape just to prevent them from falling off. Also, I was a little disappointed because the vents on the upper portion of the shell do not actually allow for any airflow. They help with the overall look but in reality it simply shows through to the painted EPP foam. In addition, the EPP foam has started to come loose from the inside of the helmet and the comfort foams are starting to shift. I do live in Arizona and it can get pretty warm playing inline hockey but I would expect it to last a little longer. I have only had the helmet for about 3 months and have used it about 25 times between inline and ice hockey. I have sinced purchased a Bauer 7500 w/ Cage and have not had any issues.

Comments: Great Helmet for its price. I use this helmet for 5-9 games a week both ice and inline. Had a few hits in the head and this helmet has protected me just fine.
