Level of Play Definitions

    Recreational-Level Skates
    Built for the new-to-hockey player or casual skaters that are looking for an affordable option. These are great starter skates, especially for youth players.

Cut Protection Level

  • This is the general level of protection against cuts.

    • Minimum: Basic protection suitable for competitive play
    • Standard: Balanced protection for intense gameplay. Protects against more severe cuts.
    • Maximum: Highest level of cut resistance for elite gameplay. Ideal for competitive adult hockey and designed for the biggest and fastest players.

The Bauer Reactor 4000 Goalie Catcher has been scaled down providing younger goaltenders with similar protection as the senior model. The reduced the size and weight of the intermediate Reactor 4000 catch glove maximizing the goaltenders performance potential.

Durable synthetic leather on the Reactor 4000 catcher improves overall wear and provides solid protection. Bauer's skate laced single-T pocket design provides additional rebound control by absorbing puck impact and limiting puck spin. Dual break zones in the palm allow for easy closure and a faster break period. The face of Reactor 4000 catcher is constructed with molded poly and foam providing advanced protection for the palm. The Reactor 4000 catch glove features a large flared cuff box that helps with rebound control as well as provides additional mobility at the wrist. This catcher uses a molded thumb box with an adjustment feature maximizing glove control. Backside protection on the Bauer Reactor catcher is segmented delivering full protection without restricting mobility. Inside the Reactor goalie glove mesh materials are used for the fingers stalls providing additional airflow and comfort. The soft leather palm on the Reactor 4000 goalie glove helps keep the catcher dry and improves the overall comfort. Backhand and padded wrist straps ensure a proper fit, limiting twist and improving control. Bauer's leather lined inner hand bridge offers additional comfort and protection when shots are taken at the cuff.

The Reactor line will be replacing Bauer Reflex for 2013, bringing new innovative features that are designed to improve a goaltenders game. The intermediate Reactor 4000 goalie glove provides advanced level protection and durability.
