Overview

The Bauer Reactor 2000 Goalie Blocker features a Hybrid/Battlefly style design thats perfect for aggressive goaltenders that prefer to challenge the shooter. The Reactor 2000 blocker provides protection up to the intermediate levels of play and the lightweight construction optimizes performance.

The Bauer Reactor 2000 blocker shell is constructed from synthetic leather and nylon materials that are lightweight and durable. The reactor blocker board is designed with a curved profile that allows the goaltender to have a full range of wrist motion as well as solid rebound control. The blocker board is tapered along the bottom edge improving the paddle-down position and allows the goalkeeper to pick up his or her stick with ease. This Reactor blocker offers a large side panel design that uses HD foam to fully protect the side of the hand. Bauer's overlapping HD foam hand and side finger guards provide solid wrap around protection.

The palm on this Bauer Reactor goalie blocker is constructed with Nash leather providing good durability and vibration dampening. Air mesh materials are used on the finger and side hand gusseting ensuring sufficient airflow for the goaltenders stick hand. Additional backhand protection comes from the internal hand bridge pad.

The Bauer Reactor 2000 goalie blocker offers great protection for the price and provides similar design features that are used on the Reactor 4000 and 6000 models.

Comments: This is a very lightweight blocker! That was something I was definitely looking for so this works nicely. It's very comfortable and breathes pretty well. All in all a very good blocker. Some minor caveats though: I am curious to see how durable it will be. I've only used it a few times now so I'm not sure. It scuffs fairly easily if that's a concern to you. The finger guards attach to the fingers with short straps on the index and pinkie. Depending on how you hold your stick, this may be annoying. I tend to extend my index finger flat against the top of the paddle so it is not an issue for me. But if you wrap your finger all the way around the shaft, the strap makes it difficult to do that. Finally, the space between the thumb guard and the blocker board is a narrow opening that the paddle of the stick fits into when holding the stick normally. The opening is narrow enough, though, that it causes some slight difficulty when I try to slide my hand up the shaft to play the puck (and even moreso when I try to return my hand to normal position). Just something that I need to get used to.

Comments: Great Blocker, extremely lightweight which is exactly what I was looking for. Index finger guard kinda gets in the way of the stick but i just cut the guard off and it works great now with the stick. Awesome lightweight product for a great price, cant beat that.
