Cut Protection Level

This is the general level of protection against cuts.
- Minimum: Basic protection suitable for competitive play
- Standard: Balanced protection for intense gameplay. Protects against more severe cuts.
- Maximum: Highest level of cut resistance for elite gameplay. Ideal for competitive adult hockey and designed for the biggest and fastest players.

The Bauer Vapor X40 Chest Protectors are mid-range chest protectors suitable for up to intermediate roller or entry/recreational ice play.
The Vapor X40 chest protector has pre-formed plastic shells in the shoulder caps with a soft foam inside to dampen shots to the shoulder. The chest blocks for the Bauer X40 chest protectors are anatomically designed which allows the chest protector to contour to your body. Bauer has used a 2" wide elastic velcro strap to connect the back panel to the front part of the chest protector, this velcro strap will provide a customized fit as well as help reduce dressing time. This chest protectors offers an adjustable bi-modular system (ABS protection) which allows you to adjust the belly flap at the bottom and the flaps on the ribs to fully protect your torso.
Bauer has used a heavy duty nylon to cover the dense foam and poly protection. The Vapor X40 chest protector has four elastic straps on each arm as well as a synthetic leather velcro strap on the wrist. Bauer has also added two nylon straps that go over each shoulder to provide a snug fit on the upper body as well as two 2" wide velcro straps that wrap around the torso.
The Vapor X:40 chest protector offers a very comfortable fit along with protection suitable for most junior level goalies.
