The Semi-Race is aimed at skaters who want the comfort of a trainer with the performance of a speed skate. The skate uses Bonts’ famous one piece construction with a carbon composite base and patented 3 point mounting. It comes with Hyper XTR 100mm wheels made in Italy, 6mm padding, and a thicker EVA foot bed. The boot comes with a heat moldable tongue and incorporates our super mold technology making it extremely heat moldable. The tongue is injection molded heat moldable EVA like the foot bed. The frame is 12.8” 3 point 6061 aluminum which weighs just 174 grams which is lighter than many pro racing frames on the market. A new last has been developed specifically for this skate. The boot is a lot stiffer than other skates in the Trainer market and the stiffness comes from within, so there is no need for an external brace to give the boot stiffness. This gives the skate a lot higher performance than other similar types of skates.

Q: How do I find my Bont size? Please note that fitting a speed skate is not like fitting a running shoe. Speed skates need to be stiff to give you support and the sides of the skates are made with carbon fiber. When you put your foot into a tight skate, the foot grows in length. Different people’s feet will become longer than others depending on the composition of fat and muscles in your foot. As such, two people with the same length feet may need different size boots. Bont's size chart is based on feedback from skaters that have told them the maximum length foot that will fit in each size boot.
Q: Why are my sneakers 2 sizes bigger than my Bont Skates? A: When Mr. Inze Bont first developed his last in 1975 he was a size 8. Over the years as sneeker manufacturers moved to Asia, last sizes have shrunk. Mr. Bont is now a size 10... So the simple answer is that Bont's last sizes haven't changed for over 30 years where as your running shoe manufacturers lasts have changed.
