Customer Feedback

The Easton ST16 hockey shin guard is the premier pad in Easton's ST line.  The ST16 offers an advanced level of protection to accomadate players with high demands from their pads.

Similar to the other shin guards in the ST line, this pad has six air vent holes in the front shin.  Easton has placed metal screens over these holes.  This is more of a cosmetic feature, but does give the pads a nice look to them.  The covered knee cap adds add to this look.

Easton has done a great job at placing HDPE plastics in the calf wrap, high thigh protector, and outer knee guard to offer additional protection to the pad. The thigh protector is adjustable, allowing the player to costumize the height it extends from the knee.  This is especially nice for ice players to costumize the fit to work seemlessly with their ice pants, and avoid the ice pant getting caught on the top of the shin pad.

Easton has given this pad a monster 4" neoprene strap across the calf that comfortably locks the pad in place.  This strap is a neoprene core with almost a felt like exterior that offers a soft feel.  Along with this strap there is a removable nylon strap below the knee.  Not the most comfortable strap but it is removable making it great for the players that use tape to secure the pads.

  • Protection:
    • Wider kneecap allows the knee to sit deeper into the pad providing additional protection to the outside of the knee
    • Sling Tec™ cradles and supports the shin a comfortable distance away from the outer shell of the pad. This space between the shin and shell allow impacts to be dispersed before reaching the shin.
    • Ribbed shin design to reduce direct impacts
    • Easton's Tib Flex™ allows for more forward flexing without sacrificing protection
    • HDPE Calf Wrap to provide advanced protection to the back of the leg
    • Height adjustable HDPE thigh protector providing additional protection above the knee that allows the player to customize the fit to match their playing style
  • Liner:
    • Bio-Dri™ soft knee donut - Wicks moisture away from the player providing a better fit
    • Dry Flow™ shin liner - Easton's unique system that releases moisture and excess heat created during play
  • Fit:
    • Removable velcro nylon strap below the knee
    • 4" soft neoprene strap across the calf providing a comfortable solid secure feel to the pad
    • 6 air vent holes with metal screens to increase air circulation through the pad
    • Tapeline below the knee offering a more efficient fit to players that use tape
  • Level of Play: Ideal for advance to pro level of play
