The Easton Mako M5 Hockey Shoulder Pads are ideal for the intermediate to advanced level player looking for solid protection and mobility. The conic shoulder design and front frame closure system make this pad stand out from the ordinary in on-rink performance and looks.
The fit and closure system will differ from the traditional hockey shoulder pad design as well. The fit has a contoured "second-skin" feel that is secured with the drastically different asymmetric front frame closure system. To fasten the pad, you place both arms into the pad then wrap the outer front panel over the inner front panel. Once the desired fit is adjusted using the rib-wrap fit straps, you can get the perfect fit every time.
Most importantly, the protection on the Easton Mako M5 is top notch as well. Using a combination of high and mid density foams, the front frame closure system provides a thick layer of these foams giving the player excellent frontward protection. The 5-layers of foam in the shoulder cap are not only certified (by not using a plastic insert) but provide extraordinary energy-dispersion protecting not only you but your competitor from serious injuries as well. The plastic inserts in the 2-piece adjustable bicep guard and the segmented back panel work hand in the hand with the layer of medium density foam under it to supply superior protection and mobility.
