Bauer has mainly used synthetic leathers on the X40 blocker.  The cuff features some heavy duty nylon for increased durability and a lighter weight. The palm is a traditional leather with dual overlays for greater durability.  The gussets on the fingers are a mesh material for ventilation.

The X40 goalie blocker also features a two piece finger guard for an increased range of motion and better stick control.  Bauer has used a 1" velcro leather strap for a customized fit.  The cuff has an open feel offering great mobility. The X40 blocker also features an aggressive board curve for enhanced rebound control.
