These shin guards have a very protective knee cap with Bauer's HX-SORB inside the shell and X-SORB on the outside (white plastic in picture). The shin cap has been ribbed to help disperse energy from any direct impact. Plastic inserts are found on the thigh guard and the side knee joint for additional protection.

Most of the calf guard is reinforced with Bauer's Vent Armour, this increases ventilation to the back of the leg and keeps the pad lightweight. The Thermo-Max liner is very soft, making the pad extremely comfortable. The strapping system is a highlight of this pad. The top anchor strap is a soft stretchy material which holds the knee in place. The calf strap secures the rest of the shin guard to the leg and keeps the calf guard in position to protect the back of the leg.
