Roces M12 UFS
By Jeff Norton

The M12 is back and just as sick as before. UFS and ready for whatever you want to throw at it. I was so excited (I just can't hide it) when I heard this skate was being released as a UFS skate. "Simple proven ideas" (where have I heard this before), that's what I think about when I look at this skate. Simple classic looks that only offer function, no flash.

The Boot:
The boot is much like its not UFS predecessor. I doubt much changed. I can't see any difference. Instead of a classic soul area we are blessed with a super fast soul plate. Plenty of space for topside tricks, and very smooth, even over the rough spots.

One of the best things about this skate is the lack of bulk. A lot of skates today want to draw you in with tons of flash, but the whole 'hip hop until you drop' look is way dated. This skate is a boot, liner, and frame. Very simple and very effective. With the lack of bulk we are dealing with one of the lightest hard shell boots to date.

The Liner:
The liner is a perfect fit for the boot. The padding is well placed and very comfortable. The liner does not slip around or bunch up in any way. It provides more than enough comfort and support to last even the longest of skater sessions. After three months of skating the liner is still in great condition. I can't say that for most liners that I have skated! Great durability!

The Cuff:
The Cuff sits at a perfect height. The flex is pretty much perfect. Not too stiff and not too flexible, just right. The Buckle is the exact same as most all other Roces street skates. It's made to be durable and easy to use. It has a set adjustment, so every time you buckle in you don't have to readjust. This is cool, yet it can be a problem. If the buckle breaks, you can't just replace it with a standard buckle. The Cuff and buckle are Roces parts only. However, there has only been one time I have seen a broken buckle on Roces skates.

Frames/Wheels:
Stock Roces frames are provided. Nothing to get excited about. They do slide fast, but I got rid of them as soon as possible. The wheels are 56mm 88A hyper, with ABEC 1 bearings. This is pretty much an entry-level set up.

Outro:
This Boot is for any kind of skater. Don't let the price fool you. A few upgrades and you are riding a pro set up. Left stock this skate is perfect for the up and coming skater who's looking to get to the next level. Enjoy.
