I cannot tell you how many times I have whacked my shins on a rail, ledge, or even my other skate (true top porns). The point is, few things hurt that much and happen as often as hitting your shins. I'm bettin' I'm not the only one out there doing this either. This sort of thing can ruin your whole session. You can miss your warm up trick and... Bam! There goes your confidence for the rest of the session.
I have been sporting shin guards for quite some time now. I go spurts when I don't wear them, but that's when I end up hurting myself. I used to use elbow pads where I would take the caps off and just strap them to my shins. It worked pretty well, but Deshi has a much better option.
These shin guards are lightweight, and they fit great. They are made with some of the best materials known to man. They have a Kevlar / Elastic mix with a Velcro fastening for a stretch fit, and U.H.M.W plastic material backed with a Styrofoam cushion. All that means is that they are strong, durable and comfortable and are made with great and user friendly materials.
The bottom line here is that they fit snug and don't slip. So you forget you are even wearing the things. They are bit thin, which is both good and bad. If you really hit hard (real hard) it's gonna hurt. Not nearly as much though. Nor will you have much of a mark. If they were too fat, then the bulk would get in your way and you wouldn't want to wear them. I feel they are a great addition for anyone who has ever hit their shin(s) rolling.
